About Toto
The band Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro and David Paich (who were also highly acclaimed studio musicians who worked with Boz Scaggs at the time) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. The group's name was derived from the Latin word that means "all-encompassing" and was determined to explore every style of music.
The third album by Toto, Turn Back, was an unfulfilling success in 1981. However they made amends with their fourth release, Isolation, which contained two songs that were hits including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour make them a household name throughout the world.
After a hiatus of a few years, Toto return with the album Fahrenheit in 1986. The album is a departure from the ballads of previous albums and includes some heavy rock. This album was their first album to go platinum in North America.
